The backstory: As a part of the 2006 “Collection Royale”, Nike set out to release a number of silhouettes commemorating great athletes. As a part of the official releases, superstars like LeBron James, Serena Williams, and Michael Vick were given a Nike Air Force 1 Low, a Nike Dunk Low, and a Nike Air Force 1 High. The final piece of the collection, a high-top Dunk, was originally intended to be a collab with Tiger Woods however as rumours go, it was dropped as he didn’t approve. Instead this same shoe was dropped with Dontrelle Willis, a Nike baseball athlete with panels of patent leather around the shoe instead.
Only a few pairs have ever surfaced of these making them a highly lucrative pair.
A few notable changes to the released version making these special:
• Printed toe box with small a ‘TW’ logo on each
• Red leather and crimson upper leather instead of patent
• VPSS | 999999999 - salesman sample on the inside size tag
